The G Shock White DW6900FS-8 has the best white color in it’s design… it matches anything that you wear and the black looks purple in the light. The greatest part about this is the blue backlight. It’s bright and illuminates the time and functions very well. For the waterman this watch is rugged and built to last while still providing some very cool tech features the G-Shock line is known for.

The exhibition caseback is fantastic to look at and it’s a great feature to look for in an automatic watch. The Invicta Pro Diver comes packaged in a beautiful yellow case and looks much better than the photo… (rubber wrist bands generally don’t photograph well). I find the bevel and touch system on the 405cx much easier to use than expected. The backlight is far superior to that on the Forerunner 305. It produces a much brighter light that you will appreciate while running. The battery life is excellent as well. Even with the backlight and the GPS turned on (both) for a couple of hours, you can expect battery capacity to be around 75%. I continue to recommend this watch as the best GPS watch for serious runners.

The dial is substantial, which gives it a rich look. ! The ceramic on these white ceramic watches is very smooth and creamy and goes with anything from jeans and a tee to a cocktail dress. The butterfly clasp is very comfortable and especially if you are using your hands on a keyboard a lot then the low profile of the flat closing is very comfortable. This is a quality watch. The watch is extremely lightweight, due to the simple, slim design of the face as well as the mesh band. Right out of the box, all of the features are intuitive. Setting the time and date does not even require the included instructions (although you should probably read them just in case); and there are not a bunch of esoteric features crammed onto the face like a barometric pressure monitor or stock ticker. The watch band is comfortable, even in hot weather. And the band doesn’t loosen.

They are hardy and durable little timepieces, but waterproof watches still need a certain amount of care for them to last as long as you want them to. Each part of a water-resistant watch needs specific attention as far as maintenance and cleaning are concerned. Some may require more importance than others, but it’s always good to keep every part of your watch in tip-top shape for precision timekeeping and other functions.
We recommend getting your timepiece checked by expert watch mechanics and cleaners every couple of months or so (or every time you’ve used it in water). However, there are ways to care for your watch on your own, and they need not be expensive nor intimidating. First, before using your watch underwater, make sure all the buttons and screws are driven home tight. If your watch has had its battery changed recently, check the case to see if it’s screwed back on tightly to prevent any water from seeping into it. If you aren’t too sure that it is, or do not have the proper tools to make sure it’s screwed in properly, it’s better to take your watch to an expert so it can be resealed the right way.
You can change the time and date of your waterproof watch by unscrewing the crown in a counter-clockwise direction. Do this carefully, because aggressive movements (or if you insist on unscrewing the crown clockwise) can cause serious damage to your watch’s water-resistant capacity, and maybe even to the watch itself. Tug at the crown gently outwards until you hear a click, then start rotating it clockwise to change to the current date. Push the crown back until you hear the click, and then repeat the entire process to keep the time updated. Push the crown back inwards to screw it back into place and keep it waterproof once more.
Water-resistant watch straps also have unique care instructions. If your watch strap needs replacing, make sure the replacement is also waterproof. Take your pick from nylon, rubber, or silicone in styles that will match your watch case design and color. If it just needs some cleaning and is still fully functional, you can get rid of the grime and dirt easily. You can simply mix a small amount of baking soda with warm water to make a paste. Using your fingers, gently rub the baking soda paste onto the parts of the watch strap that need cleaning. Be extra careful not to rub too hard, because baking soda grains are abrasive and can leave scratches on the rubber or silicone. Leave on for a few minutes, and then rinse very thoroughly before drying it with a soft cloth. Nylon straps can be brushed with detergent soap and water using an old toothbrush.
It is important not to expose watch straps and other parts to oil or grease, to extreme heat, and to chemicals like perfume and body sprays, as these can make the material brittle or even damage them permanently.

- You can do underwater diving according to the ISO certification. As mentioned, water-resistant watches must meet different ISO qualifications before they can be sold to the public. Those who are looking for diver’s watches can do so by determining if they meet the International Standardization/Organization (ISO) certification of 6425. This means they can withstand water pressure for about 100 meters. Moisture-protection for most water resistant watches meet ISO 2281, which means it is okay to swim with them for a couple of hours without worrying about them breaking apart.
- They offer a wide variety of features to suit an active lifestyle. Let’s face it; water-resistant watches are not made just to wrap themselves around the wrists of people who live sedentary lifestyles (though if these people want to purchase one, nobody will be able to stop them from doing so). This is why many watch brands offering water resistance make sure to include interesting and helpful features with each product they put out. Some diver’s watches include an LED light to better see underwater under low-lit conditions.
